It’s the last day of 2017 and the last Top Ten post of the series! Today, I’m looking back at my Top 9 (just pretend it’s 10…) most liked Instagram posts of the year, courtesy of https://2017bestnine.com/. From the looks of it, you all share my love for sparkly golds, pinks, architecture, Paris and the Chicago skyline 🙂

Keep on reading to get the scoop on each of these beauties!

Numbers 1, 3 & 5:

couple walking in downtown chicago at union station wearing badgley mischka and black suit

Y’all seem to REALLY be digging this elegant combo of rose gold and the gorgeous Chicago architecture. 3 times in fact! Marcelle and Scott’s glamorous anniversary session featured the stunning columns outside of Union Station and some lovely downtown backdrops. I loved getting to meet this sweet couple as they celebrated their anniversary in Chicago! P.S., Be sure to check out Marcelle’s beautiful artwork at https://www.marcellecalder.com/. She’s super talented!!

Number 2

couple kissing in front of chicago skyline

When the golden light peeks in through the Chicago skyline and reflects off of Lake Michigan, the colors that are produced are nothing short of MAGIC. I had so much fun with Iliana and Jamie at their engagement session. These two are the definition of chemistry and were quickly able to forget about the camera and just enjoy the moments together. My favorite memory from this session was when I told them they were going to be dancing for a few shots. Their response: “Awesome! We dance all the time at home!” I was a puddle of mush after that. I love getting a glimpse into such beautiful relationships.

Number 4

But for real. Still pinching myself that I got to do this! Kennedy and Ty were absolute sweethearts and I loved getting to spend the morning with them! FYI, waking up at 4am is SO worth it to have views like this all to yourself!

Number 6

couple hugging in front of barn wearing gold and blue with red bouquet

I have such fond memories of Adriana and Richard’s engagement session at St. James Farm. We had such incredible weather and perfect golden light. I’m such a sucker for old buildings so this colonial-looking barn was the perfect backdrop. I encourage my couples to bring props to their sessions and love that Adriana brought a bouquet with her. Flowers make EVERYTHING instantly more elegant and lovely!

Number 7

couple walking down stairs at chicago union station

These two in this location are the picture of elegance and poise! I LOVED that Hannah and Pat chose to go full on glam for the first half of their engagement session. And the way they are looking at each other? Cue all the heart eyes. You can just instantly tell how perfect they are together! Paired with the gorgeous interior that is Chicago’s Union Station, they looked like absolute royalty. Engaged folks take note, it’s a ton of fun to get decked out for your engagement session. Though you will definitely have onlookers trying to figure out what movie star you are 😉

Number 8

girl with engagement ring holding gold badgley mischka dress

I love capturing a few detail shots during engagement sessions. After all, a lot of time, effort and money went into picking out that ring, right?! Gotta show off that bling! Between Hannah’s stunning engagement ring (nice job Pat!) and her shimmery gold gown, this photo is bling on bling on bling and I love it!

Number 9

bride and groom in front of barn in illinois

Ohhh I’m so glad this one made the list! I LOVE this shot of Chelsea and Josh in front of Hoosier Grove Barn. These two sweeties planned a beautiful summer bash and it was such a joy to be a part of! We did most of their portraits before the ceremony so that they could enjoy cocktail hour with their friends and family. But we managed to sneak aside for a few last photos during cocktail hour and I’m so happy we did because we were able to capture that ‘just married five minutes ago’ glow!

Aaand with that, I’m signing off for 2017. It’s been an absolute pleasure serving each of my clients this year and I’m excited to see what adventures next year has in store.

Happy New Year to you all!
