Hey y'all! I'm Nicole & I capture authentic moments for classically elegant, unconventionally adventurous couples who believe in stylish simplicity.

Rustic Fall Chicago Elopement | Emma & Brian

Elopements

I’m so excited to finally be able to share today’s post! We’ve been keeping this sweet elopement under wraps so Emma and Brian could surprise their friends and family with the news! Everything about this elopement came together so perfectly and I don’t think we could have asked for a better day. We were nervous that we might have missed fall, but we were surrounded by the most beautiful rusty tones that were accentuated by the golden glowy light.

Planning

If you thought that planners were only for big weddings, think again! There are planners, like Lace and Brass Events, who offer special elopement packages that are worth every penny. They truly bring so much to the table, from helping you find your vendors, to making the marriage license process as seamless as possible for you. All of which makes it easier for you to focus on enjoying your day and celebrating with your new husband/wife! Emily from Lace and Brass also had some surprises up her sleeve for Emma and Brian including the sweetest champagne toast and a gorgeous velvet ring box.

Hair and Makeup

Milian Bonillo brought her magic again, giving Emma the most beautiful braid and loose curls that fit so perfectly with the rustic, carefree vibe of the day. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how GORGEOUS Emma’s red hair is? She’s such a stunner! Milian is so great at using makeup to highlight the bride’s natural features. I loved the light shade of pink she used to bring some color to Emma’s cheeks and subtly accentuate the lips. I’ve said this so many times, but if you’re planning an elopement, hire a professional hair and makeup artist! You will NOT regret it!!

Florals

This is my second time working an elopement with Field & Florist and I’m officially obsessed with everything they do. This bouquet was rustic fall perfection. The colors and textures were out of this world. It screamed fall, but in a very elegant way with a very mature color palette. Again, if you’re planning an elopement, treat yo’self to a beautiful bouquet and boutonniere. Your photos will thank you and you’ll have a tangible item to take away from the day!

Video

Since Emma and Brian were planning on surprising their friends and family with the news of their elopement, they wanted a video to be able to share with them in addition to photos to help them feel like they were a part of it. And I LOVE that idea. If you want the day to be just the two of you but would like a way to let people in on the memories after the fact, hiring a videographer can be a wonderful way to do that. And Melissa from Datflipmel did an amazing job capturing their day and keeping that sweet intimate vibe.

I absolutely loved capturing this day. The colors, the textures, the views – everything just sings. And holy moly did the film colors come out so beautifully! Elopements are so sweet and intimate and this one did not disappoint. I think Emma and Brian’s smiles and laughter say it all! I hope you enjoyed these highlights!
