2018 Top Ten: Insta Faves

Top Ten Series

It’s the last day of 2018 and you know what that means…Time for a roundup of my nine most liked photos on Instagram for the year, courtesy of https://topnine.co/!

Blush Pink & Sparkles

If you know me at all you know I love shooting transitions. There’s always such lovely movement, completely relaxed positioning, and candid motions. And THEN you add in a pink sparkly dress and a pink fur bolero? YES. This winter wedding in downtown Chicago was goals from start to finish. Alex had impeccable style for herself and her bridesmaids. I love love love this shot of her sister (the maid of honor) holding her veil as they crossed the street.

Classic Elegance

The Armour House is the epitome of elegance, with its soft netural colors, old world architecture, and giant walls of windows. And those floors? Could there be a more perfect color palette? In this shoot planned by Sarah Rhodes-Boyce Weddings, I love this soft quiet moment of our bride facing the windows. It shows off her deep-V backless dress, her loose updo, and that gorgeous giant garden-style bouquet.

Ballerina in Pink

What’s not to love about a ballerina in pink in the most beautiful city on earth? I love this shot of Clara at the Palais Royal in Paris. Such gorgeous lines from a beautiful dancer and yowza what a fun setting.

Cake Goals

This cake was so good I posted it twice this year! This stunner of a birthday cake from the talanted Toni Patisserie was out of this world. The naked cake with the pink drip icing would have been pretty enough but then you top it with fluffy macarons and line it with big gorgeous blooms and you get WOW!

Rooftop Views

I mean…Did Charley and Nick nail their engagement session or what? We were lucky enough to get to shoot on the rooftop of the Ambassador Hotel with views that are about as incredible as you can get in Chicago. Keeping it classy in black and white, their outfits were sleek and chic, the perfect complement to the neutral skyline behind.

Ballerina in Purple

Back at it with more dancing in Paris! I adore the tones in this shot of Clara in front of the fountain. We had such beautiful soft light reflecting off the water and creating the most elegant of feels.

Winter Romance

I already talked about how much I love this one in my Black and White Post! But to recap – the movement and the emotion are perfection!

Soft Pink Floral Centerpiece

Bigger isn’t always better for your tablescape! Splendor of Eden made this gorgeous little centerpiece in soft winter tones of blush, white and green with that pop of icy blue from the anemones. The blooms are stunning, the textures are divine, and the tones from the film are beyond lovely!

Downtown Chicago Strolls

As a lover of Chicago and the stunning architecture it boasts, there’s nothing more enjoyable for me than strolling through the Loop to capture the feel of the city. We went to one of the most iconic spots in the city, The Chicago Theatre, and hopped into traffic to create some magic. I love the rainy, chilly December vibes, the classic views, and busy-ness surrounding these two lovebirds, putting the spotlight more on them.
