Summer Wedding at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum | Camy & Steve

Weddings

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to share highlights from Camy and Steve’s sweet summer wedding at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum with you today!

The Venue

The nature museum makes for an absolutely stunning locale for a wedding. The beautiful outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by lush greenery and stonework, giving you a secluded feel. But the sleek modern lines of the museum and the bridge and the glimpse of the Lincoln Park neighborhood in the background all give a beautiful reminder that you are still in the city! It’s such a perfect blend of elements for anyone who wants to celebrate in Chicago but loves a natural, organic vibe.

The Florals

Camy and Steve, with the help of Sarah Kathleen Events, planned an absolutely gorgeous day, full of personality and fun. I particularly LOVE what they came up with for the floral design and how beautifully Fabbrini’s Flowers executed their vision. Everything felt like a natural extension of the space and felt very effortless.

They also brought in bistro lights to add a fun element to the reception space and I’m obsessed. My philosophy is, if you can add bistro lights, you should! They give the space such a warm, welcoming feel and, bonus, always make the photos a little more magical 🙂

A Sweet Vow Exchange

One of my favorite moments from this wedding was after the first look. Camy and Steve prepared personal vows that they wanted to exchange in the presence of just their wedding party and family, prior to the formal ceremony. So we all huddled up while the two shared their promises to each other. It was such a sweet, intimate time that I hope they will look back on with so much fondness. Oh and be sure to keep an eye out in the photos for the moment they played Rock Paper Scissors to figure out who would read first! They are such a fun couple y’all!

A Fun Dance Floor!

As I expected based on the couple and their friends, the dance floor was rocking! And it all started with a lively choreographed dance by Camy & Steve. Wedding tip: there’s no rule that says you have to slow dance for your first dance!

Camy & Steve, thank you for including me in your awesome day! Enjoy your sneak peeks! 🙂
