It doesn’t get much more lovely than a winter engagement session in downtown Chicago! For Mary Grace and Joel’s winter session, warmth was the name of the game. We started our session with the beautiful, classic architecture of Union Station. The photo ops here are endless! So many lines and angles to play with! And, thanks to Covid, it was not very crowded, so we were able to take advantage of some epic wide shots!

After that, we moved to our very own igloo at the IO Godfrey Rooftop for a fun us-on-a-date vibe. It’s important to get creative for winter sessions so that you can both embrace the season and get beautiful photos. A rooftop igloo provides the perfect mix of warmth, gorgeous light, a casual/comfy feel, and lovely city views.

I had such a wonderful time with these two! Not only were they a joy to photograph, but they were also so unbelievably sweet and kind. I loved getting a little glimpse into their relationship and getting to laugh and smile with them for the afternoon! They just warmed my little photographer heart 🙂
