Got another round of Wednesday Wedding Tips for you! Keep on reading for a few random tidbits to help you plan a successful, stress-free wedding!
Trust is Key
It is really important that you hire people you fully trust. Yes, you can and should give your opinions about what you want and paint a clear picture for your vendors about your vision for the day. But then you should step back and trust them to use their skills and expertise to execute your vision in the best way. You should not feel the need to micromanage your vendors.
Don’t Hire Based Solely on Social Media
Things aren’t always what they seem. Especially on social media. People buy followers all the time. People buy likes all the time. The numbers you see on social media are rarely going to be an accurate representation of how qualified someone is to participate in your wedding. If you are hiring someone based heavily on their social media popularity, you might be doing yourself a disservice. Make sure that you are doing a deep dive of vendors’ websites, meeting them in person, and reading reviews from past clients. Let those things weigh in the most on your decision rather than vanity metrics.
Double Your Travel Times
When putting together your timeline you need to pad your travel times quite heavily. Pull up Google maps at a similar time of day/day of the week that your wedding will be and start plugging in addresses. Whatever estimated time Google gives you, double it. It takes longer than you want to believe for large groups of people to transition from point A to point B. Worst case scenario, you end up ahead of schedule – which honestly no one ever complains about on their wedding day!
