If you’ve been around here a while, you know I absolutely LOVE small, intimate weddings. By scaling your guest list, you allow yourself to invest in fewer, higher quality elements and treating yourself and your guests to a really special day. Lindsey and Brian’s sweet, blush and navy wedding was a perfect example of this! They and their 11 guests celebrated in one of my favorite loft spaces in the city, DL Loft; every detail was so beautiful and every moment was so sweet and special! It was truly a joy to capture!
The Decor
Because the loft is already styled to perfection, there’s very little that needs to be done to spruce up the space. Little touches of greenery and florals scattered throughout the room were the perfect addition! The large statement window was garnished with some sweet balloons with hanging greenery, making for a perfect ceremony backdrop. The clear chiavari chairs were perfect for the space, keeping everything light and airy. And I loved their choice of a simple white cake, topped with a few fresh florals and greens to tie it all together.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was short and sweet, with a touching reading by the sister of the bride. I loved that even with their smaller, more intimate event, these two opted not to see each other before the ceremony. The smile on Brian’s face when he sees Lindsey says it all! There was so much joy throughout the vows and so much raw emotion after the recessional. I love capturing those post-ceremony moments between the bride and groom as well as their families.
The Portraits
The great thing about DL Loft is that it comes equipped with a beautiful outdoor patio that makes for a lovely portrait backdrop! The three of us spent a few minutes together capturing their portraits as husband and wife before heading back inside to join the party! I love the way these two interact, and you can’t ever go wrong with having champagne with you during your portraits 🙂 Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how stunning Lindsey’s dress is? That open back and the lace overlay is EVERYTHING! Her hair and makeup were the perfect natural compliment to the dress.
The Reception
The other wonderful thing about having a small wedding is that you get to eat and mingle at one long table with all your guests. So much fun! Lindsey and Brian had a private chef join them at a loft and he created multiple courses of AMAZING looking dishes. What a delicious and personalized way to celebrate such a special occasion! After sweet speeches from the bride and groom, the group settled in for a relaxing evening of dining together. It was such a beautiful evening and I am so grateful to have been a part of it!
