I love getting to do anniversary photo sessions with my past wedding couples! It’s always so much fun seeing them again! And this one was no different! I truly cannot believe it’s been a full year since Katie and Mike’s wedding and wow what a full year it’s been. With Covid creating a plethora of downtown Chicago closures and an effective moratorium on photo sessions, we had to postpone this shoot. But I think the wait was worth it! A photo session along the Chicago River in the summer is ALWAYS a good idea.
The Chicago Riverwalk is an absolute playground for photographers with beautiful lines and lovely architectural elements. And we lucked out with the true icing on the cake – a sunny golden hour. The dreamy light of the summer evening and the varying shades of blue from the river were really showing off for us and I’m obsessed with all the views we got to capture together. Everything about this session screams summertime in Chicago. It’s quite refreshing to have this small appearance of “normal” in the midst of a very abnormal time.
Katie and Mike, you two are just so wonderful and I’m so happy I got to spend the evening with you! Sending you all the socially distant hugs 🙂
